Heath Thurston

Heath Thurston graduated from the Utah Valley Campus of the Utah College of Massage Therapy Family of Schools in March of 2001. Soon after graduating, Heath started a private practice in Provo, Utah. Heath’s clientele began to grow, but there was always something else he was looking for, something more worldly.

Heath began looking for work outside of the United States. Being a very recent graduate and not having a great amount of experience working in the field of massage therapy, Heath had a rather difficult time finding what he was looking for; at times he was very discouraged in his pursuits. But he kept in contact with Career Services and kept seeking out new opportunities abroad.

Heath was recently flown to Los Angeles to meet with Hans Keller, another graduate’s father and general manager of the Royal Palm in the Galapagos Islands. The Royal Palm is a new resort spa being built by the Millenium Hotel Chain that will be finished sometime in the fall of 2001. Mr. Keller was thoroughly impressed by Heath’s massage skills and professionalism. Not only did Heath land a job working at the Royal Palm, but was offered the position of Spa Director, and this only 5 months after graduating! Heath will be flying down to the Galapagos Islands at the end of October to begin his new career as Spa Director of the Royal Palm!
