Casey GeisdorfCasey Geisdorf will be graduating from the Professional Massage Therapy Program at the Salt Lake Campus of the Utah College of Massage Therapy Family of Schools in May of 2002. In March of 2002, Casey attended the Spring Job Fair, held at the Salt Lake Campus to get a feel for the market and see what was available. There was no specific employer she was interested in interviewing with; she just wanted to find out what a Job Fair was all about. She came with fourteen copies of her resume in hand in hopes of getting a couple of interviews under her belt. Casey ended up having four verbal interviews and three hands-on interviews over the two days. Within a week of the Job Fair, the world renown Broadmoor Resort and Spa from Colorado Springs, Colorado called Casey to offer her a job and find out when she would be able to start working. Because of a preplanned, European family vacation (as well as having not graduated yet), Casey would not be able to start until after the scheduled training date had already begun. However, the Broadmoor was willing to wait and is holding a position for her for when she returns from Europe. The following week, two weeks after the Job Fair, The Golden Door Spa from the Peaks Resort in Telluride, Colorado contacted Casey, also wanting to hire her. She informed the Peaks of her decision to work at the Broadmoor. Her employment at the Broadmoor is seasonal and her contract would end in October, so she would not be able to work anywhere else until that time. The Peaks understood and stated that even though October was past their scheduled hire date, they would hold a position for her there as well! So still with nearly 2 months left in her program, Casey Geisdorf has two jobs lined up! |
